Where are you going these holidays?

Whether you're staying in Sydney or heading to remote parts of the world, we want to see your favourite place. Foto Riesel has teamed with Australian Geographic for our travel photography competition called 'My Favourite Place'. Start snapping over the holidays for your chance to win. With a total prize pool of over $2300 your pictures could be from as far away as Egypt or simply snapped in your own backyard. Whatever the destination, we want to see your work! Visit the Australian Geographic website to enter. Entries close at the end of January.

The Sunday Sessions
Sunday trading kicked off with a bang this month and it's been great to see so many of you instore. Our FREE Sunday Sessions will continue after 11 January. Reserve your place or keep an eye on future events through our Ning site.

The Holgas are here!

From Hong Kong, the Holgas are affordable and fun cameras made from plastic (yes, plastic!). Not a material we think about when it comes to cameras but they are a whole load of FUN. What started in the 60s as a cheap and simple photographic alternative sadly declined in sales ten years later. But over time, they've regained popularity as photographers realised how creative you could be with them. They've pretty much gained cult status now and we have them here in Australia. Holgas give some pretty cool (and quirky) effects which can be unpredictable but fun to play with (and isn't that what photography is all about?). They're also pretty easy to use. Sony NEX-7 pre-orders
One of the most anticipated cameras about to hit the market is the Sony NEX-7. We were lucky to get hold of one of the first demo models in the country so why not come in and have a play? If you're serious for one of these guys, we are now taking pre-orders and you will be contacted as soon as they arrive in our hot little hands! To guarantee your order, you need to pre-pay online or instore.

Street Photography winner announced
