The 5d-R series is the latest of Quantum's proven portable Qflash units. Used with FreeXwire, the new Qflash 5d-R now supports wireless control of all dedicated camera-flash functions -- including Manual, TTL, Auto, Auto-fill and TTL-Ratio -- up to 500 feet away! Qflash 5d-R blends seamlessly with Canon, Nikon and other professional digital camera systems, using Quantum's proprietary QTTL adapters. Or with a Qnexus attached, control 5d-R using your Canon or Nikon camera system. In some cases, it even provides capabilities a camera system may not support -- such as wireless remote Fill-Flash!

Qflash "Digital" models 4d, 5d, and now 5d-R are "dedicated" to the latest digital and film camera systems through its own QTTL - through-the-lens dedicated exposure control. Parabolic reflectors produce softer, cleaner light. And they quickly interchange for bare bulb, wide angle, diffused, and telephoto reflectors.

Qflash "digitals" are smaller and lighter than their predecessors. Flash heads swivel and bounce and lock into position with one button control.

In addition to full dedication Qflash operates in Manual, Auto, TTL, and Strobo modes. In automatic mode, Qflash power adjusts in 1/3 steps over wide ranges-- from f/1.4 to f/22 for ISO 100 film- in 25 precision settings. In manual mode Qflash displays 19 power settings from full to 1/64th power, in 1/3 step increments.

Fast and Powerful
150 watt-seconds vs. approximately 50 watt-seconds for typical camera manufacturer's flash. Cover greater distances, illuminate bigger shots and have more bounce power. Recycles in 1.9 sec. at full power using a Turbo 2x2 battery.et-ups are easier because Qflash units communicate and coordinate through control cables, or wirelessly via FREEXWIRE digital transmitters, receivers and transceivers. Do wireless QTTL, A-TTL, D-TTL, E-TTL, E-TTL2, iTTL, auto, auto-fill and even change settings on remote Qflashes.

Qflash power exceeds that of typical shoe-mount and handle-mount flashes, which allows for greater distances, bigger shots, and much more bounce power. That, combined with its studio quality light give professionals just the portable lighting they need.

State-Of-The-Art TTL Exposure Control

Using Quantum's optional D-series TTL adapter, Qflash T5d-R will work seamlessly with the TTL exposure systems found in most digital SLR cameras. The Qflash will operate in the same dedicated modes as camera manufacturer's flash, mimicking all features,* but the Qflash is more rugged, powerful and has much faster recycling.

Works in all camera shooting modes: Manual, Aperture-preferred, Shutter-preferred, Program.

TTL exposure: Camera body controls exposure for both ambient and flash illumination.

TTL ratio fill-in flash: A small dial on the Quantum QTTL adapter lets you select the amount of fill-in flash, the ratio between ambient light and the intensity of the fill-in flash. This is adjustable in 1/3-stop steps, between -3 and +2 full stops. Even if your camera doesn't support ratio fill-in flash, the Quantum D-series QTTL adapter will add this capability.

In multiple-flash setups, easily control the relative brightness and the lighting ratio of each flash from the camera position. Build a wired or a totally wireless system.

LCD panel on Qflash displays f/number and film speed. As you change aperture, the Qflash will continue to output the appropriate amount of light for that f/stop, and at the fill-in ratio you've selected.

Supports front- and rear-curtain sync.

Infrared focus assist built into Quantum D-series adapter. (As with camera manufacturer's flash, focus assist usually works only when camera is set to single-shot mode, and autofocus is adjusted to use the center viewfinder spot.)

(36m), get proper flash exposure with your choice of apertures in 1/3 steps, from f/1.4 to f/22 for ISO 100 in 25 precision settings.

Expand the power and reliability of multi-flash TTL setups. Use remote Quantum Qflash with your Canon or Nikon flash.
QNexus links Quantum Qflash T5d-R or X5d-R to the wireless TTL systems of Canon and Nikon. QNexus "reads" the Canon or Nikon wireless infrared (IR), signals to command Qflash in manual, automatic, TTL, and TTL-Ratio.

Use any number of dedicated Qflash 5d-R's or X5d-R's as remotes, controlled totally from your camera's master flash menu. QNexus supports all Canon and Nikon wireless flash functions* from as far away as 100-200 feet! ** The higher sensitivity of QNexus provides more than a 50% increase in range over camera manufacturer's flash.

Each Qflash equipped with QNexus gives you an additional 150 watt-seconds (with Qflash T5d-R), and up to 400 watt-seconds (with X5d-R) of beautiful, studio-quality lighting to dramatically expand your creative options. Camera manufacturer's flash is typically only 50 watt-seconds.

Camera Status/Mode Indicator A multi-function LEDused to set Qnexus for either Nikon or Canon systems or provides visual confirmation when QNexus receives a wireless infrared TTL signal.

Channel Dial Works with Canon or Nikon master flash channel
selection. Set any one of four channels (1-4) using the rotary switch on the QNexus to the same channel on the master flash.

Remote Group ID Indicators Allows Qflash units to be setup in multiple groups for Ratio-TTL exposure, or combined in the same groups for extraordinary flash power. Uses same group indicators as Canon or Nikon flash.
